From what I understand the M62 tends to generate alot of heat when the boost pressure is raised above 5 PSI. So while ill be putting in the new pulley soon, that should put me at 8-10 PSI. Its either I use an Air to Air intercooler or go with a Methanol injection set up.
The only problem with the meth injection, if it fails there is a chance I could blow the motor......=( Anyways ill keep you guys updated!
So far everything is moving along great. After I put the new pulley in I will be heading down to Munky Works (local tuner) to get the higher boost level tuned. Im shooting for no more than 10psi. Got my gauge pod in. Its facing a little too high but if I tilt the vent the gauge sits just right. =) But I still have to wire it up.

Last night, while I was going to get some dinner, my oil cooler decided to start leaking. Boo... It was already too late to do anything. In the morning before heading to work I put another quart of oil in. I was lucky enough to make it to work. Good thing the night before I decided to get some oil and a new filter (it was time for an oil change anyways)
So at work I quickly removed the oil sandwich plate, drained the oil and removed the cooler. Filled her back up and she's good as new. But now I think im just going to sell the oil cooler. Once I up the boost i will monitor the temps. If its not too bad ill just keep it where its at now. (no cooling) But its its bad, then ill just use either of the two intercoolers.

Still havent gotten around to getting the Mazdaspeed6 rims on yet. having trouble finding a place to mount the last tire.
In other news. I finally took out the racing seat and swapped it for the OEM seat. Sure it feels like im driving a truck, but its comfortable driving through traffic. lollancerevilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18220148979768661572noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7232393395287667131.post-90814738791966730502010-09-02T12:52:00.000-07:002010-09-02T17:29:19.409-07:00
I just picked up an extra vent to make a gauge pod similar to this. I have had this car for just under two years now. I believe that I have done alot to it already. (ill post up the mod list here at the bottom of the post) I still have many plans for this car. There will probably be no chance that I will be selling this car anytime soon.

Long Term Goals
-Keep the Protege and build it as a track car. (If Oahu ever builds a track.)
-This will include a roll cage
-Two front racing seats
-Gutted Interior
-Racing slicks
- *maybe some time of wide body* I have always like the DTM function of there aerodynamics.

Short Term Goals
Finish the Supercharger to its full potential.
-Get a larger crank pulley
-Pull upgraded to 6.1" from 5.3" this should put me at about 9-10psi. Currently at 4.5psi @max boost.
-Get a Air water intercooler or air to air intercooler
-Have charge piping changed from steel to aluminium
-Once all that is done get it properly tuned.
